Historical Footnotes Spring Summer 2017

The Historical Footnotes continues in it’s new format to inform CHI members! Volume 62, Issue 1 (Spring-Summer 2017) of the biannual newsletter of Concordia Historical Institute was recently sent out to its members.

Volume 62, Issue 1 contains an article on CHI’s current museum exhibit – “Pressed into Service by the Word of God”; an article on a rare 1579 version of the Book of Concord; a report on the annual Walther Roundtable; an article on the ins and outs of digitizing historical records; an article on a hidden treasure in Friedenberg, Missouri; a listing of the LCMS district archivists; a listing of obituaries received for pastors and commissioned ministers who have died in the first half of 2017; an article on the Ross A. Wagner Estate gift; a report on a new CHI project on the history of Lutheran missions in India and a listing or memorial gifts given to CHI.

Members can look forward to these and future fascinating articles as we “move Lutheran history forward – together”!

Historical Footnotes is sent to all members of the Institute. The current issue is available to non-members for $2.00, with back issues available to members and non-members for that same price. Shipping and handling are extra for back issues.
