Anniversaries, anniversaries! The Fall 2026 issue of the Concordia Historical Institute Quarterly (Volume 99, Number 3) commemorates two anniversaries occurring this year, one for the 50th anniversary of Concordia University Irvine, and the other for the 500th anniversary of the William Tyndale translation of the New Testament into English.
ARTICLES
The first article is by Daniel N. Harmelink, entitled, "The Contested Birth of a Peculiar Lutheran College: Pastor-Teacher Feeder School or Great Commission College".
The second article is by Cameron MacKenzie, entitled, "Luther and Tyndale, Tyndale and the LCMS: 500 Years of Tyndale's New Testament".

The first review, by Joel L. Pless, is for "The Wisconsin Synod Lutherans: A History of the Single Synod, Federation, and Merger" by Edward C. Fredrich and John M. Brenner.
The second review, by Ken Schurb, is for "Evangelical Lutheran Homiletics: According to Dr. J.J. Rambach's Commentary of Homiletical Principles" by Reinhold Pieper.
The final review, also by Ken Schurb, is for "Atonement in Confessional Lutheran Theology: Franz Pieper" by Franz Pieper.
