Multimedia Studio

Producing High-Quality Media Resources

Podcasts, videos, reels, online exhibits—the digital resources needed to move Lutheran history forward call for a multimedia studio at Concordia Historical Institute fit for the task.

Right now, the staff of CHI work valiantly to produce web resources in spaces that are not optimized for recording, filming, or photography. Staff members have worked diligently, DIYing non-reflective photo light boxes and backdrops and recording in dusty (but not echoey) corners of the building. Although their resourcefulness is commendable, a designated space with all the necessary equipment would save a great deal of time.

Concordia Historical Institute hopes to renovate a section of our building in order to create a dedicated space for multimedia content creation, with photography and audiovisual recording capabilities. A dedicated space and additional equipment would allow us to produce more and higher-quality web resources. In turn, these assets would be accessible worldwide through our website and social media. With a dedicated space, better equipment, and an easier workflow, we are considering pursuing the following potential projects.

  • Sharing more resources from our archives
  • Producing more online exhibits
  • Releasing educational video and audio content
  • Establishing a regular podcast
  • Filming and editing guided video tours of on-site exhibits
  • Live streaming talks and other timely content
  • And more!
