Since 2014, the Rev. Todd D. Zittlow, archivist of Concordia Historical Institute, has produced a bibliography of North American Lutheran history. He has made a major effort to identify all of the materials that have been published in the area of North American Lutheran history and included them in the following bibliography listings. If you know of any publications that have been missed over the years or if you notice an error, we would love to hear from you and we will update our information.

Categories for the bibliography may include: Articles, Books, Chapters, Congregational or Organizational History, Oral History, Theses, and Fiction.

Please note, we have included some items which may not be scholarly history, but may be of interest to our members and supporters.  Inclusion on this list does not necessarily imply endorsement by CHI.

The Lutheran Historical Conference also has a bibliography, which can be obtained by becoming a member.
